Alexis Babaian

Founder, Consultant

Alexis (she/her) is a dynamic systems thinker with a wide skillset ranging from strategic design to nutrition science research. After working in agriculture, public health, nutrition research, and business communications, she realized the need for a multi-disciplinary approach to the challenges of our modern food system. Today she is focused on designing sensible hardworking solutions for food and nutrition innovators with a special interest in sustainable fisheries, equitable food access, and food entrepreneurship. Alexis holds a Bachelors of Arts and Science in Economics and International Relations from Northeastern University and a Master’s of Science in Applied Nutrition and Food Policy from the Tufts Friedman School. She currently resides on the small island of Martha’s Vineyard where she is immersed in her local food system spanning land and sea.

What is Food Systems Consulting?

Food systems consulting helps actors in our global and regional food systems create a more sustainable, nutritious, and equitable food system for all. Food system actors can include farmers, fishing communities, ranchers, grocers, urban gardeners, food aggregators and processors, chefs, restaurant owners, school administrators, researchers, educators, and many more!
